Education is one of the main sectors of the French-Malaysian co-operation. Malaysia emphasises on education as it would surely be the keystone to the development of its future economy. Thus, education is a priority to Malaysia with the first budget of the government with more than 20% of the budget. This priority is known as the knowledge-economy or k-economy. With 21 public universities, 23 private and 5 International University campuses, the Malaysian government has decided to diversify its collaborations. Thanks to the wide range of French educational offer and to the reputation of competencies in many fields from arts to sciences, Malaysia is very keen to develop more and more collaborations with France.
